Today my group and I presented our webpage for our client Mr. Garcia for Rainbow Tech. What he had mention for our website for him is to make sure you do all the positives instead of addin negatives because you dont want to loose the peoples/ clients intrest in the business. He also mention for on the homepage to add a picture that will catch the persons attention. He would like a picture of one of the best custom paint jobs he had done to show his talent and great work. Otherwise he said that it was a good page and that with a few changes it would be good. He also mentioned that it was a good thing to expierence and how the advertisment works.

In class we saw the eyewitness news vista LA. On there I seen Animo Students from our school. Kaya spoke on the news expressing how she felt about the Animo Charter schools. I seen Mr. Carr teach and some of our students listening. I seen Mr. Hsu helping out students during his technology period. It was very interstice to see our school and our students in this report. I also seen Steve Barr and he was talking about how he came up with this idea and how he started the small schools. Animo Schools are achieving a lot they want to accomplish and they are succeeding. It was very intresting to see a report about our school on tv on eyewitness news.

In my ethnic studies class Mr. Steve Barr came and spoke to our class. In 5th period he was talking about our school and what we like about it. He was also talking about what do we want to make our school better/ what we want to see in our school. What I thought was most interesting was what we can do for our school to make it better. Also his story about the addias superstar shoes and how he wanted them. That was funny!!!! Steve Barr is a very interesting man and I think he has a lot of ideas for our school and I am glad he is the founder of green dot. He taught me about leadership and he was saying that he is listening to our ideas and when we want something he's going to try to acheive it for us. Such things as a dance team,football, basketball...etc. If you want to do something you should put your mind to it and dont give up.

On Saturday I went to the Adelante Mujer Latina Confrence. It was at Pasadena College and it was a great thing to attend. At the confrence there were many speakers and workshops to go to. I went into the crime and investigation workshop where is talk about what we need to do and what courses to take in college to acheive what you want to be. There was a guest spacker named America she was on the film Real Women Have Curves and she spoke about education to many of us. She was a great speaker and was very funny!!! It was a pleasure to hear what she had to say to young latina women and how much education is important to us!!!! It was a good cnfrence to go to and I think many Latinas should acheive their goals and dreams.

~*No, i dont think the author really fell in holes in the sidewalk. The holes he might have fallen in where the ones of your ups and downs in life. The hole could of been something that made you fall in life. Not literally fall but when you have a bad situation in life. Holes I have fallen in life are when my grades where droppin, when i got in big trouble, and when I was fighting with someone. These are just some of the holes in life. There is also death and illness.~*

2) When I first read this poem, I thought of what's happening to your grades. Some of you seem to be stuck in hole #2: your grades go down; you pretend you don't see it; you have "F"s again; you can't believe you're in the same place; you say it isn't your fault; it takes you forever to get out or you don't get out at all. What hole are you in right now? Why do you think so?
~*Well right now with my grades I am in the hole in ethnic studies. Right now I have a D+ in his class because I turned in my chicano students essay in late and he hasnt had time to grade it because it was late. So that is my fault and that is why I am in the hole for ethnic studies.~*

3) In terms of your grades, what do you have to do to reach step V and not fall into the hole of letting your grades drop? If you have already reached step V, how did you get there; and what advice can you give to the students who are stilling falling into "holes"?
~*What I have to do is I have to stay on task with my work and make sure my grades dont slip. I have to make sure I got all of my work done and then I have to study for all my test. I have to be on task and stay on task.~*

In Curriculm Skills yesterday we had a little meeting and what i thought about the whole situation with Luis and Chris was wrong. I think they should of gotten a second chance and I think they knew it was wrong but they were just not thinking and they were just caught up in the moment. A lot of times people do stupid things because they dont think before they take action. At yesterdays assembly I thought is was wrong for those students to walk out like that!! Exspecially certain people. I thought that they didnt really care and that they werent really thinking. The asb took their time off to get ready for the assembly and for them to walk out on them not caring was disrespectful. I was shocked to see some of those people walkout. One of those people are two faced. We thought they cared but obviously they were wrong. We any ways the assembly yesterday was a good way for the students to think and listen to what had happen at that meeting when asb were there. In the near future I think kids should just think before they act because other wise people will just be making stupid wrong decisions that can affect them in the near future. This is my opinion!

I think that Luis has power over himself now but not power over anyone. I think this because he wanted to join a gang for the power when really you don't gain much power. The only you gain is people being afraid of you. Yes you have the power over frightening people but then you also have the power of causing riots and causing others to hate you. Well who knows maybe you do have power. Well I think maybe he just has the power over himself to stop his wrong doings and make sure he makes the rite decisions.
~Well to me I think he is kind-of sorta-of a leader because he wants to make change and help others. He wrote many books to get his words out and he has turned his life around other than what it was as he was a teenager. So yeah you can say he is a leader. He is a leader because he wanted to turn his life around and he is. He is still alive today even after everything that had happen to him. It was a great experience to go meet him and to have the privileged to go and listen to what he had to say. It was a good experience and I enjoyed it a lot.

I interviewed a wonderful woman named Eliza Ramierz. She is a very strong hispanic woman that has been through a lot through her years. She is alive today and is living a healthy life. Now along with the interview.....
1. Who are you? My name is Eliza Rameriz and I am a mother of four sons, and I have many grandchildren. So as you know I am not 21 (laughing)
2. Where were you born? I was born in Mexico but moved here to California when I was a teenager.
3. Was it hard for you to move here? Well, put it this way there was a lot of paper work to be filled out and it took awhile to get all the paperwork situated. It was not only a days work.
4. To me, you are a leader in my eyes..... what do you think you have accomplished? Well I have accomplished moving sucessfully to California, and I have accomplished buying a home and survivng in this life. Well to me I am just living life day by day.
5. What tragedy have you not gotten over with today? Well death actually in my family. See in my family, death comes in three. One year it was my mother, then the next year was my husband due to cancer, and then the next year was my son due to a car incident. I am tryig to get over the fact that my flesh and blood, my offsping died before me. Its not supose to happen like that. The parents are supose to go first! Im still trying to get over the fact that they are gone and that they are in a better place now.
6. What are you currently doing now? I am a weddingcoordinater at St. Joseph Church. I go out to the church and have rehersals for people getting married. I am bilingual so I do english and spanish weddings, which is a big plus.
7. What are your goals for life?? Well since I am getting older I have not that many goals. But when I die I want to be baried right by my family next to my husband.
8. What was your biggest sucess?? I would have to say my biggest sucess is when I moved here to California and I am sucessfully living now with my own house. I have good credit and I am healthy. Well except the fact that I picked up a bad hbit on the way.
9. What is that bad habit?Well ever since the death I have been smoking and I get so depressed that I get a craving and want to smoke. I am trying to stop though.
10. Do you consider yourself personally a leader? Well to be honest no because I don't think I went out into the world to try to make a change.
Well to me you are a leader and I think you have made a great change. You may have not been Elizabeth Martinez but still you did not have to go out and fight for civil rights for a change. You change to be the better of yourself and I think thats all that matters. You do your good deeds in secret other than shouting them out to the world. So in that case you are a leader to me. A leader is someone that leads and guides and is in command of something. The difference between a bad leader and a good leader is that a good leader will make better choices for what ever it is leading and the bad leader will make choices for all the wrong reasons and winds up making wrong decisions. A moment that i have been a leader was last year in the eigth grade where the eigth grade class was leaders for the school. We had to set good examples for the younger children and we had to show our school pride through everthing. Alsolast year I was a family head and thats when we would get into our familys at school and I was the head person because I was in the 8th grade. ~There are two different types of cloning and cloning techniques can be used for other purposes other than producing the genetic twin of another organism. There is reproductive cloning which is a technology used to generate an animal that has the same nuclear DNA as another currently or previously existing animal. Scientist transfer genetic material from the nuclues of a donor adult cell to an egg whose nucleus, and its genetic engineering, has been removed. The egg containing the DNA from a donor cell must be treated with chemicals or electric current in order to stimulate cell division. Once the cloned embryo reached a certain stage, it is transfered to the uterus of a female host where it continues to develop till birth.
~There is also Therapuetic cloning also called "embryo cloning", which is the production of human embryos for use in research. Stem cells are extracted from the egg after it has divided for 5 days. The egg at this stage of development is called blastocyst.. The extraction process destroys the embryo, which raises many of ethical concerns.
~Me personally, I would not want to clone any of my animals or family members because the clone would not be the exact same as them. It would look the same but it would not act completely the same. I would not clone and pets or family members and thats just my own personal opinion.

Martin Luther King was a black man who spoke for civil rights. "We shall over come" a saying that was said by many blacks to help them get through their troubles and to help them stay strong. There was a whole issue when black people were not allowed to sit on the bus if there was a white person who needed a seat. There were a whole bunch of issues dealing with white and "colored folks" back in the day. Whites did not want to have nothing with the blacks and they acted like if they were going to die. Winter Break was alright. On New Years I didn't do anything, so it sucked lol but my mom said next year we are gonna go to disneyland or have a lil party. Why do I hurt myself? Lets see sometimes I don't think before I act and then I have to pay the consequences. There were many times that I hurt myself like for not completeing my homework, or not studing for my tests and then trying to get it in my brain before that period comes. I remember once when I hurt myself in the 8th grade. I got blamed for a water fight that I didnt start. I had to pay the consequences and turn in a behavior reflection. I was with Lilly and we had to leave the hall. My result was I didnt get tutored for a history test that was coming up. So I had to stay up and study. Other students can prevent by getting hurt is think before they act. Ask themselves questions like, is what I am doing right? What can be the consequences of my decision?etc. I think Mr. Hsu letter made sense and I agree with it! But not with all of it!

My grades for the first quarter are okay. I have all A's and one B. Nevermind, now that I just checked I have all A's. I brought my ethnic studies for a 84%~B now to a 90%~A. yEAH!!!!! I like these grades! At my old school i never got straight A's. In the beggining I would always to fine and then some gow I would manage to drop. But I kept good grades all through first quarter, yeah! Im actually happy with the grades I have right now! Hopefully I will keep them like that and try not to drop any of my grades.

Friday I went to Knotts Scary Farm for the first time ever! As my first expierence I thought it sucked. I wnet on Big Foot Rapids and got soaked. I was freezin the rest of the night. I went with Kimi, My Sis Sara, and Alex Morales. Sara, Alex, and I can late to her house becuz we went home and showered, well alex came over our house. I guess Kimi got mad because we were late, but I told her what we had to do. OHH WELL!!! Saturday all we did was stay home. On Sunday~ HALLOWEEN!!!~I stayed home did homework and then got ready for halloween. I got dressed up and then started to pass out candy. The girls around my house were dressed all slutty. They were scary looking. There was a bunch of kids. We were waiting for my little cuzin to come, man they took forever! They came at 9 and were suppose to come at 6. So then all we did was walk around the neighborhood. Halloween was alright. Now im back at skool. yippee~not!

Mr. Changs blog talks about the elctons going around our campass at school. I think that the elections are going well. Its just people fighting to get their vote to win what they are running for. I think that Mr. Chang is saying that you don't need to put others down just run your own electon and see what happens. I would choose a canidate that is going to help our school be more fun and with much more activities.
